Ex-Real Madrid star claims one Blancos midfielder ‘doesn’t convince me in any position’ | OneFootball

A former member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week moved to reveal his frustrations with Blancos star Aurélien Tchouaméni.

The name of France international Tchouaméni of course took its place front and centre in the chatter across Spanish football once more this past weekend.

Unfortunately for the former AS Monaco man, however, this came for less than positive reasons.

Afforded a starting berth at the heart of defence in Los Blancos’ Spanish Super Cup showdown with arch rivals Barcelona, Tchouaméni struggled throughout, looking entirely out of sorts.

This marked just the latest in a string of underwhelming displays on the part of the 24-year-old, whom many of a Real Madrid persuasion have long made clear their desire for the club to part ways with.

And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, such criticisms have only continued to pile up.

Speaking during an appearance on Cadena SER, as cited by Relevo, former Real Madrid frontman Predrag Mijatović was asked for his take on Tchouaméni’s recent endeavours.

And Mijatović did not hold back in his response:

“Let’s call things as they are: Tchouaméni does not convince me in any position. He is a player who arrived with a certain expectation and who has played very well with France. But since he arrived at Real Madrid, it has been a bit too big for him. Playing one day as a midfielder and another as a centre-back… we do not have him in either of those two positions.”
