With only a few months left of the 2024/25 season, Liverpool’s Mo Salah still hasn’t committed to the Reds, however, a decision could soon be made one way or the other.

There have been reports that there will be a big push from the Saudi Pro League to sign Salah.

Suggestions that Al Ittihad are waiting for Salah and arguably see it as a foregone conclusion that he will be the poster boy for the league from the start of the 2025/26 campaign could be wide of the mark, however.

More talks planned for Mo Salah

That’s because, according to CaughtOffside sources, the Egyptian King’s future is still yet to be decided even at this late stage.

Furthermore, sources have advanced that, in fact, his main priority remains to renew his contract with Liverpool.

In order for that scenario to occur, the 32-year-old wants a deal that must fully satisfy him in terms of salary and contract length.

Liverpool, for their part, have offered a two-year extension with a good financial package and, though it is close to what Salah wants, some details are still missing and both parties aren’t quite there yet.

Reds fans will be delighted to understand that talks are expected to speed up – with confidence – in the coming weeks, as both Liverpool and Salah’s representatives work towards an agreement.

PSG remain an option and they have a three-year contract until 2028 on the table and ready to be signed.

Mo Salah wants to win the Ballon d’Or

A very attractive salary – much higher than what the English club will offer – may still not be enough to tempt Salah as PSG are only considered a back-up plan if negotiations with Liverpool do not go as expected.

Al Ittihad, Al Hilal, and especially Al Nassr, have reiterated their desire to land Salah in the last few days.

Though he’s open to playing in Saudi Arabia one day, and personal terms would not be an issue, Salah, for now, doesn’t see it as the right moment to go there.

He wants to stay in Europe and round off his career there by winning the Ballon d’Or.
