EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea have laid down ground work in deal to sign striker BEFORE Club World Cup!

This comes after what we thought was a very bad winter transfer window for Chelsea.

The transfer window closed a couple of weeks back now and it was a very bland and strange one for Chelsea. They only made one signing and he is a player who is just expected to play as a deep backup option this season and then probably go on loan in the summer.

Other than that, Chelsea just loaned a bunch of players out with the only permanent one being Cesare Casadei to Torino in the end.

But it seems like some other things happened behind the scenes that nobody knew about, or at least it did according to this report.

Chelsea bid for Murillo

Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

An exclusive from Football Insider claims Chelsea had an offer rejected for Forest defender Murillo in January.

The report says Chelsea’s interest in Nottingham Forest star Murillo will not go away after they had a January bid rejected.

Murillo remains a top target for Chelsea – who are on the hunt for new defenders and are keen to bring the world’s best young talent to Stamford Bridge.

Their sources say it will be a “tough deal to do” for the Blues despite their ‘limitless transfer budget’.

Murillo is a great defender but I can’t see Chelsea wanting to spending out any big money to bring him in. I do see Chelsea going for a new centre back in the summer window though because I can see lots of movement happening in that area of the pitch.
