It is not exactly a secret that Inter Milan have had some financial struggles in recent seasons.

Particularly after the beginning of the COVD-19 pandemic, the Nerazzurri faced gigantic losses.

Former Inter owners Suning took on a massive loan from North American fund Oaktree Capital in the spring of 2021. This was simply to cover the losses that the club was sustaining.

In the meantime, Inter had to make big money sales in the transfer market. For most of the past few summer transfer windows, there have been painful departures of big name players.

However, the Nerazzurri have slowly improved their financial situation year on year.

The big sales have helped Inter make up for losses and increase revenues. And in the meantime, the Nerazzurri have also slashed their wage bill to reduce costs.

Then, the revenues have also gone up from commercial deals such as shirt sponsors.

And the Champions League has also been a big source of cash for the Nerazzurri. This season alone they brought in well over €100 million by reaching the final.

Meanwhile, Inter could acquire yet another large windfall via participation in the Club World Cup this summer.

Therefore, the financial situation at Inter is now better than it has been in some time.

The financial year ending in 2024 ended in Inter recording losses, but only relatively marginal ones.

And after Oaktree Capital took over the clubs last spring following Suning defaulting on their loan, it always seemed clear that they would like to break even and begin to make a profit.

This financial year, the Gazzetta report, Inter should record a profit of around €25 million.
