Erik ten Hag has reportedly emerged on AS Roma’s radar following his exit from Manchester United.

The Dutchman is without a club after the United board pulled the trigger on him, owing to the Red Devils’ disastrous start to the season.

Ten Hag was sacked in late October after his side’s 2-1 defeat at West Ham United. However, it seems the club’s hierarchy had kick-started their process to replace him way before they formally showed him the exit door.

Within days of his departure, United struck an agreement with Ruben Amorim to leave Sporting CP mid-season to spearhead their project.

The Portuguese has already arrived at Carrington and will manage his first game as United manager after the international break.

It seems the ex-Ajax coach is also unlikely to spend too much time away from the touchline.

Roma are in the market for a new man to lead their side after sacking their second manager of the season. They started the new campaign with Daniele De Rossi, who was replaced by Ivan Jurić in September.

However, after just 12 matches in charge, the Croatian lost his job as he failed to steady the ship. Jurić managed to win just four games in his brief spell.

There is little room for mistakes now. Accordingly, Roma are “holding meetings in London with several candidates at once.”

According to Il Messaggero (via RomaPress), Ten Hag is being looked at as one of the options to lead the Serie A outfit, who sit 12th in the league table.

The former United manager is reportedly joined by Graham Potter on Roma’s short-list of managerial candidates. The Englishman was heavily linked with the Old Trafford job before the Mancunian giants secured Amorim’s signature.

Interestingly, Roma are not the only top European club monitoring Ten Hag. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Borussia Dortmund are interested in the Dutch coach amid question marks over Nuri Şahin’s future.
