Mirwan Suwarso, the president of Como 1907, has expressed his admiration for both Nico Paz and the team’s Spanish head coach, Cesc Fabregas, stating that he wants to keep the duo at the Serie A club ‘forever’.
It is understood that Como are extremely pleased with the performances of Nico who came through Real Madrid’s academy.
While the club is well aware of the difficulties involved in keeping him for the long term, they have a strong desire to retain him as part of their squad for as long as possible.
Suwarso made it clear that the club would love to continue working with both individuals indefinitely. His comments reflect the growing ambition of Como, a team that has been gaining recognition in European football.
“We all want Nico Paz to be able to stay with us forever, if possible.
“We all also want Cesc to stay here forever and we (the board) want to stay here forever. The ambition has to be big, and then things change. That’s life,” he said as quoted by SPORT.

Under Fabregas, the Italian side has become an exciting project, attracting attention with its progressive approach and long-term vision.
Despite the club’s enthusiasm about keeping Nico, Suwarso acknowledged the reality of the situation. He admitted that a player of Paz’s calibre, especially one who continues to improve, will eventually be sought after by elite clubs.
“Nico is a very ambitious footballer, a great player. Hopefully we can keep him. But we have to be realistic.
“A guy like him, if he keeps improving, deserves to play on the biggest stages in the world. And we are trying to be up to the task and that’s why we do what we do,”
The Argentine midfielder has demonstrated significant potential, and if his development continues on the same path, he is expected to return to Real Madrid, who indeed have a buyback option.
Como are striving to position themselves as a competitive team capable of retaining top talent. However, they also recognise that players with high ambitions, like Nico, will naturally aim for bigger challenges.
