France’s poor showing against Croatia in Split on Thursday night is likely to lead Didier Deschamps to make some changes to his starting XI in the second leg.

Les Bleus must overcome a 2-0 deficit in their UEFA Nations League quarter-final if they are to progress. In order to get the job done, some changes will likely be made by Deschamps.

Ibrahima Konaté had a difficult 45 minutes in Split before making way for Dayot Upamecano at the break. A “knock” was evoked by Deschamps post-match as the reason for the half-time change. The Liverpool defender will likely drop to the bench with L’Équipe evoking a tactical choice, rather than injury, as the motivating factor to bring in Dayot Upamecano in his place.

Lucas Digne may also give way for Theo Hernandez. In midfield, Manu Koné could come in for Mattéo Guendouzi. Randal Kolo Muani is the other player expected to lose his place. Michael Olise is expected to start in his place.

Deschamps revealed on Saturday night that Adrien Rabiot was likely to miss the encounter due to a calf injury. Eduardo Camavinga is the most likely candidate to replace him.
