Fulham begin their FA Cup campaign with a third-round tie against Watford at Craven Cottage this evening.
Marco Silva’s side continue to impress in the Premier League and will hope to take their league form into cup competition.
The Cottagers are one of just five top-flight teams to have never won a major trophy, but will consider themselves outsiders for success in this season’s FA Cup. Fulham are unbeaten in eight Premier League games and have earned results against Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in recent weeks.
Their opponents, Watford, have made pleasing progress under the management of ex-Manchester United and Hornets midfielder Tom Cleverley this season. Currently ninth in the second-tier, Watford are three points from the play-offs with a game in hand. However, Watford head into the clash on a run of three straight defeats.
Marco Silva could look to rotate his options for the clash with Adama Traore and Emile Smith Rowe among those pushing for starts. The latter has been eased back in after returning from injury, while Traore has lost his place in the XI to Harry Wilson in recent weeks.
Silva could have Sander Berge back available after an ankle issue, though Harrison Reid, Kenny Tete and Reiss Nelson remain out. Jorge Cuenca, Ryan Sessegnon and Rodrigo Muniz will hope for starts.
Fulham predicted XI: Leno; Castagne, Diop, Cuenca, Sessegnon; Pereira, Lukic; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Muniz.
Fulham host Watford in the FA Cup’s third round on Thursday 9th January 2024. Kick-off at Craven Cottage is 7:45pm GMT.
Fulham vs Watford will not be shown live to a UK audience. ESPN+ (America), Sport 2 (Israel) and TRT Spor (Turkey) will be showing the game live.
