AC Milan and Inter will have it all to play for in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final after Wednesday night’s 1-1 first leg draw.
Both goals came in the second half, with the first being scored by Tammy Abraham in the 47th minute after a lovely turn and finish, before Hakan Calhanoglu hammered in a shot from distance to level things.
It is a result that means the return game in three weeks becomes pretty much a one-off fixture, though Milan will feel like it was a missed opportunity in their ‘home’ game having taken the lead.
Below are how the Italian newspapers look this morning after the game at San Siro.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Never-ending derby. Milan-Inter 1-1. Everything will be decided on April 23. Abraham strikes again, Calhanoglu responds. Conceicao remains undefeated, Inzaghi comes close to victory. Paratici sporting director: the suspension obstacle.”
Corriere dello Sport: “It’s the Turk. Calha responds to Abraham. The second Coppa Italia finalist will be decided on the 23rd. Conceicao deludes himself with Tammy’s goal, Hakan gifts Inter a draw: the return match will be played in three weeks.”
“Paratici will be the sporting director of Milan. Furlani, agreement with the former Juve director.”
Tuttosport: “Abraham is a devil, Calha avoids hell. The Englishman, already decisive in the Supercoppa final, shows Inter the witches again: a torpedo from the Turk prevents the third defeat of the season against the Rossoneri. Opportunities and waste: everything will be decided on April 23.”
QS: “Inter, the derby is jinxed. Coppa Italia, 1-1 in the first leg of the semi-final. Milan, it’s Paratici.”
