Ruben Amorim could be forced to make a selection that would horrify Gary Neville as injuries are beginning for Manchester United ahead of the Spurs contest.
The 39-year-old revealed on Friday that several of his players are facing physical problems ahead of Sunday’s battle of the wounded, leaving their availabilities in doubt. While the coach didn’t mention any names, The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell spilled the beans.
Unfortunately for the Red Devils, they will have to do without Kobbie for a few weeks. The teenager has had his highs and lows since the start of the season, but he remains an important element in Amorim’s squad. The 19-year-old is originally a box-to-box midfielder, but the manager has been testing him further up the field in recent weeks, yielding mixed results.
Moreover, fellow midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are also in doubt for the trip to North London. The duo will have to overcome late fitness tests to earn their place in the squad. So as the source explains, Amorim could be forced to call up 19-year-old Jack Moorhouse to make up for the deficiency in the middle of the park.
Moreover, Whitwell notes that if Ugarte and Collyer were to miss the trip, Amorim could be forced to rely on Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

The duo last started together in the forgettable defeat to Newcastle United on December 30th. The two veterans were completely overrun in the middle of the park, with most pundits agreeing that they should never play side-by-side ever again.
“Casemiro and Eriksen in midfield are like mannequins. Little one-two around them, it’s so easy,” said Gary Neville at the time.
“They’ve been two fabulous players throughout their careers, but the last thing either of them wants to see is the other next to them. All you want around you is legs. They shouldn’t be playing a game together in the Premier League. They really shouldn’t.”
Amorim duly obliged, so the Brazilian and Dane found themselves at the bottom of the pecking order. However, the injury crisis could force the manager’s hand. Nevertheless, club captain Bruno Fernandes represents an alternative solution in midfield, as he’s been deployed in a deeper role as of late.
