GdS: ‘Destined to change’ – Theo heading towards Milan exit as renewal doubts continue

Theo Hernandez is currently having his worst season in an AC Milan shirt, and there are multiple things that this affects, most importantly though is the future.

It has been said far too often this season, and perhaps last, how Milan’s stars are too inconsistent for the figures being thrown around – what good is a €7 million player for a few games a season when the rest of the season they play like a player on a much more insignificant wage?

The main culprit for this has been Theo Hernandez, and the Feyenoord game was just another page in his worst chapter. Today, Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) has looked at the situation.

Seriously at risk

As things stand, Theo is remembered more for his style than his football, his aesthetics over athletics. Debuting pink hair in the game against Feyenoord could have been flipped with a good performance, but another stylistic choice can define another poor performance.

Formerly, he looked forward and was a sensational visionary, but now, he fails to do things that put him out of safety – the handbrake has been pulled on the field. In fact, he has received the second-lowest score from Gazzetta; only Emerson Royal has played worse.

What does the future hold?

This season comes at the worst time for everyone involved. Theo is playing for a new contract with the Rossoneri, which will not arrive with the current situation. He demands €7m per season, a figure that has no value to the Diavolo so there is ‘no intention’ to pay him this much.

So, an exit looms, and Gazzetta writes that the Frenchman is ‘destined to change airs’. However, the mercato value drops with every poor performance and changing the shade of his hair will not add value to a move. Ultimately, it’s football not fashion, and Theo’s performances in the latter have been equally as controversial as the ones on it.
