Guardiola: We want to win the FA Cup for De Bruyne

Pep Guardiola says everyone at City is determined to win Saturday’s FA Cup final for Kevin De Bruyne, while the Belgian is just as eager to lift the trophy.
De Bruyne will leave City this summer after an incredible 10 years at the Etihad Stadium and success in this game would mark his 20th major honour at the Club.
With the 33-year-old now our captain, he’ll have the chance to lead celebrations at Wembley in the event of victory.
Speaking in Friday’s press conference, Guardiola said everyone will be doing everything they can to make it a memorable day at the national stadium.
“Of course Kevin wants to do it for us and the team and of course we want to do it for him but you have to perform, behave and do something,” he began.
“It would be nice. He was not the captain for many, many years but he’s lifted already a lot of trophies. He lifted 19 trophies in 10 years, which is not bad!
“He’s played a lot of important games. One season he was injured all year but the rest he has been a key player for us.
“If he can lift one more that would be good but he’s lifted a lot.”
While he didn’t divulge whether De Bruyne will start at Wembley, the boss insisted sentimentality has not influenced his selections in recent weeks.
“I play him because I believe he can produce what he has produced so far,” he said.
“Against Crystal Palace we were 2-0 down and he changed the game with his free-kick. We can not do it just to be nice.
“It’s because I truly believe that we need him and he can help us. I don’t know [if he will start at Wembley] yet. I have an idea but we will see.”
After Saturday, City play Bournemouth and Fulham in our final two Premier League fixtures this term.
With his side still in contention for Champions League qualification and 90 minutes away from FA Cup glory, Guardiola is keen to reserve on the success of this season until the dust has settled.
“Just in case we have success in the FA Cup and we can qualify for the Champions League. After I will feel,” he said when asked for his verdict on this campaign.
“Sometimes you ask me what you think or what you feel but I don’t know yet so after I will tell you.
“I’ve said many times it's not been a good season but the damage has not been acceptable when if you're able to win tomorrow you get two titles this season.
“We can play in Champions League but we have tough two games, really tough.
“We know we missed opportunities in Southampton and now we have to recover it in the next two games.”
