Reports over the weekend claim that Manchester City are interested in pursuing a deal for Juventus full-back Nicolo Savona ahead of the summer transfer window, and updates on Monday suggest that it will take a significant offer from Pep Guardiola’s side to convince the Bianconeri into selling.

Man City have twice been linked with a Juventus full-back this season. Reports during the January transfer window confirm that the Premier League giants were close to sealing a deal for fellow Italy international Andrea Cambiaso, but the latest updates claim that City are now interested in his understudy, Savona, instead.

Reports from France over the weekend claimed that there is already a verbal agreement over a set of personal terms between City and Savona, although there has been no confirmation of any contact between City and Juve as things stand.

Updates on Monday morning suggest that Juventus value Savona in the region of €20m-€25m, however, given that he is not a player that the Bianconeri were actively looking to sell, it will likely take an offer higher than his current market valuation in order to convince Juventus into selling this summer according to reports from Tuttosport.

Savona is currently tied to a contract that runs until the summer of 2029 with Juventus, which reportedly earns him around €400,000 per year in wages.

Given that he came through the Juventus youth ranks, selling Savona for a fee would generate a ‘pure’ capital gain for the club’s accounts as well.
