Louie Barry seems to be closing in on a move to the MKM Stadium, having been the subject of plenty of interest from other clubs.
Aston Villa starlet Louie Barry is set to undergo a medical ahead of a likely move to Hull City.
This is according to BBC Radio Humberside journalist James Hoggarth, with the 21-year-old looking set for a move to the Tigers.
Few other details on the move are available about the move at this stage, but a loan switch seems likely for the attacker, who shone at Stockport County during the first half of the season.
Barry had attracted plenty of interest from elsewhere, with Leeds United and Sunderland just two teams that have been linked with a move for the player this month.
Hull have already enjoyed a brilliant January transfer window, recruiting six players so far.
Matt Crooks was the first man to join - and it wasn't long before loan signing Joe Gelhardt joined him at the MKM Stadium.
Nordin Amrabat, Kyle Joseph, Lincoln and Eliot Matazo have also joined, and more signings could arrive before the window closes next week.
Charlie Taylor is one man in the frame to make the move to East Yorkshire - and Barry now looks set for a switch to the Tigers - with the 21-year-old doing enough to earn himself a move to the Championship.
Reporter Hoggarth believes the player is set to undergo a medical, which indicates that Villa have sanctioned a move to the MKM Stadium for one of their brightest young stars.
Barry did exceptionally well during the first half of the season, establishing himself as one of the best attackers in League One during his last temporary spell with Stockport.
He now looks set to have the opportunity to prove his worth in the English second tier - and his likely loan move could put the future of others in doubt.
Already having six loanees at their disposal currently, it remains to be seen whether any of their current loan players leave before the end of the window.
Hull have already brought in some talented attacking players during this window.
Joe Gelhardt has performed well at this level before and could thrive if used properly.
Kyle Joseph is also a great attacking asset to have on the pitch, with his stature often working in his favour in the final third.
And with Barry set to join too, the Tigers are likely to be a real attacking threat in the coming months, with Ruben Selles' playing style likely to help too.
With the experience of Joao Pedro too, it will be interesting to see how the Tigers get on in the coming months. They should be able to pick up quite a few points, especially if they can get Barry.
They look set to win the race for the 21-year-old at the expense of Leeds and the Black Cats.
The Whites already have a decent amount of firepower in their squad and the Black Cats also have some talented attackers, but Barry's presence could have benefitted both teams.
