Craig Burley believes that Ange Postecoglou will lose his job if Manchester United defeat Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Tottenham boss Postecoglou’s future is in doubt with Spurs sitting 14th in the league table and on Sunday they were knocked out by Aston Villa from the FA Cup.

Spurs will welcome Manchester United, who are also struggling this season and sitting just above Postecoglou’s team in the league table, to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend for a Premier League fixture.

Burley thinks that the Australian tactician does not have the answers to solve Spurs’ problems at the moment and pointed out that injuries are an issue, but it is hard to explain some of Spurs’ performances in recent games.

He also added that he has no argument why Tottenham should not look to replace the boss and is sure that if Spurs get beaten by a Manchester United side who have not been impressive this season, it will be the final nail in Postecoglou’s coffin.

“He has not got the answers to the questions and look, is he causing the injuries by training and playing or whatever it is?” Burley said on ESPN FC.

“And it was not the injuries that decided he was going to play four attacking players today; it was not the injuries that decided they could not pass the ball 10, 20 yards at Anfield the other night, which they could not.

“So if you are looking at it just objectively, it is difficult to put an argument forward why Tottenham would not make another change in the managerial position.

“If you get beat off by Man United the way they are playing, then if he gets to that point, I don’t think he will survive.”

Tottenham have not lost against Manchester United in their last five meetings and it remains to be seen whether they will find a way to defeat the Red Devils in front of the home crowd.
