Inter Milan Manager Plays Down Pressure Amid ‘Treble’ Push: “Here It’s Normal, April Fundamental”

Simone Inzaghi insists Inter Milan don’t feel the pressure amid the club’s quest to bring home a first ‘treble’ since 2010.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, Inzaghi previewed tomorrow’s Coppa Italia clash against AC Milan.
Inter had to survive a late scare in last weekend’s 2-1 home victory against mid-table Udinese in Serie A.
Encouragingly, Federico Dimarco returned to the starting XI with a bang, delivering two first-half assists.
However, Inter needed Yann Sommer’s heroics between the sticks to preserve a slender lead down the final stretch.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi knows his side must improve if they’re to reach their third Coppa Italia final in four years.
Adding to this sentiment, the reigning Scudetto holders have won none of their three meetings with Milan this season.
Indeed, they lost 2-1 in Serie A last September before sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw earlier this year.
Furthermore, Milan stunned Inter in January’s Supercoppa Italiana final.

“We started this cycle on Sunday, and tomorrow we have an important match in a competition we care about,” Inzaghi said.
“We’re trying to prepare as best as possible.”
Asked whether Milan caused his side problems this term, Inzaghi replied: “Absolutely, there’s a spot in the final at stake.
“We’re facing a team that has always challenged us in all three matches.
“They have quality, and we respect them.”
Meanwhile, reaching the Coppa Italia final is part of the equation that would see Inter win a second treble in club history.
“Well… we deal with pressure every day – myself, the players, the staff, and the club.
“It’s normal at Inter. We wanted to be here, competing in all competitions at this stage of the season, and that’s a great source of pride.
“Now we know April will be a crucial month.”
Finally, Inzaghi revealed Inter cannot call upon Lautaro Martinez for this encounter.
“He’s working to return but won’t be available tomorrow,” Inzaghi said.
“Compared to Sunday, the squad is the same, with Bastoni returning from suspension.
“Asllani is out due to suspension, and we’ll assess De Vrij this afternoon.”
