Inter Milan will break their club record for goals scored in a Champions League final if they find the back of the net against PSG in the final.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It has been a wild ride for Inter Milan in the Champions League up to this point.

At times, the Nerazzurri have certainly had to rely on their defensive solidity. This was particularly the case in the league phase, where they conceded just one goal in eight matches.

Then in the knockouts against stronger opposition, Inter began to concede goals more frequently.

However, that wasn’t a problem, because Inter have been prolific at the other end.

Against Bayern Munich, the Nerazzurri conceded three goals – but scored four. And against Barcelona, Inter prevailed by a remarkable 7-6 scoreline on aggregate after extra time.

As the Gazzetta note, Inter Milan have scored two or more goals in every one of their Champions League knockout matches so far.

And the total number of goals that the Nerazzurri have scored since the start of the competition has been 26.

That is the most that Inter have ever scored in a single Champions League season. They did so during the 2002-03 season as well.

Therefore, Inter have already equalled their own club record.

However, if the Nerazzurri are to get on the scoresheet tomorrow, they will break it and set a new record outright.
