Inter star set to start in Munich despite fitness issue

Inter Milan have taken no injury risks ahead of the Champions League final and Simone Inzaghi rested almost his entire first-choice XI for the final round of Serie A fixtures last weekend.

Yann Sommer, Federico Dimarco and Hakan Calhanoglu are the only players who faced Como and are likely to retain their place in the side against Paris Saint-Germain.

Lautaro Martinez has not played for Inter since their semi-final win over Barcelona due to a hamstring injury, but the Inter captain will start in Munich.

Martinez revealed he was not fully-fit for that Barcelona win and Inzaghi has been protecting his star striker ahead of the final.

Benjamin Pavard and Yann Bisseck have both been struggling with minor injuries but both hope to be fit and Inzaghi faces a decision over which player to start on the right of his back three alongside Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni.

Denzel Dumfries, who has been one of the best players in the Champions League this season, will start at right-wing back with Dimarco on the other flank.

Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicola Barella will start as two of the three central midfielders, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Davide Frattesi vying for the other spot.

Frattesi scored the extra-time winner against Barcelona in the semi-finals but Inzaghi could go with the experience of Mkhitaryan.

Martinez will be partnered up front by Marcus Thuram.

Inter predicted XI: Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez, Thuram
