Andrea Abodi, Minister for Sport and Youth in the Meloni Cabinet, has addressed the San Siro dilemma.

In his latest interview with Tgr Rai via FCInterNews, Abodi touched on AC Milan and Inter’s bid to acquire the ownership of the land in the San Siro district.

“It’s time for action,” Abodi was adamant.

“We’ve spent enough on words, analyses, and studies—now it’s time to accelerate and deliver results.”

Inter and Milan look determined to build a new stadium.

However, it’s an expensive undertaking. Moreover, there have been numerous hurdles.

Abodi supports the clubs’ efforts to modernize their outdated venue, considering it the right move.

Milan and Inter are eager to follow in the footsteps of other European heavyweights, such as Real Madrid.

Florentino Perez has transformed the iconic Bernabeu into one of the most spectacular stadiums in Europe.

The same goes for London’s Wembley Stadium.

Although the project may cost upward of €200 million, Inter’s stance is unwavering.

Indeed, the club remains committed to the vision of a modern, state-of-the-art venue that will enhance fan experience and financial growth in the long term.

“I think it’s crucial to restore dignity and contemporaneity to that place,” Abodi added.

“The two clubs [Inter and Milan] have expressed interest in this option, which could involve purchasing San Siro.

“From there, its future would be decided.”

Abodi also touched on the possible appointment of a commissioner to address stalled projects, describing it as a “last resort” solution.

He revealed that efforts currently remain focused on the first five dossiers in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy.

Those include Florence, Bologna, Cagliari, Parma, and Empoli.

Additional projects, including those for Rome, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Verona, and Genoa, will follow.

Some are tied to preparations for Euro 2032, while others are taking priority due to pressing needs.
