Rio Ferdinand has singled out three players that Manchester United must sell this month, insisting that the trio are having a detrimental effect on the dressing room.

This comes after United suffered their 10th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter all found the back of the net to pile further misery on Ruben Amorim and his players. Bruno Fernandes scored United’s only goal of the afternoon.

After the final whistle, Amorim shockingly admitted that the current squad may be the worst in United’s history.

Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel, Ferdinand named Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia as the three stars the club must urgently axe before transfer deadline day on February 3.

Earlier today, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Antony is set to seal a loan move to La Liga outfit Real Betis until the end of the season.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Malacia has been told by United to search for a new club while Rashford continues to be heavily linked with an exit, with several teams both from England and abroad thought to be keen on landing his signature.

However, Sky Sports relayed that Rashford’s Old Trafford departure is looking increasingly difficult due to the financial numbers involved in getting a deal over the line.

Ferdinand said about the three footballers, “I think Antony’s going, someone said to me, Real Betis or somewhere like that. Just get them out man!”

“Sorry, no, I’m just being honest. The more these type of guys are around, where there’s just a bad noise, they all want to go, they’re all happy to go – let’s just get them out. Let’s start afresh.”

The six-time Premier League winner added, “You know what it’s like, if there’s people who are unsettled in there and it’s not going to plan and they’re not happy, it spreads. It’s like a cancerous, bad energy.”

United are back in action on Thursday when they face Rangers in Europa League.
