Manchester United are expected to come in with a fresh offer for Lecce wing-back Patrick Dorgu, but Juventus could emerge as contenders if Manchester City buy Andrea Cambiaso.
It is no secret that the Premier League side have had emissaries visit Italian soil last week to speak directly with Lecce and make an offer for Dorgu.
That was reportedly worth €27m initially, then rising to €35m including add-ons, but still not enough to meet the €40m asking price.
More talks are expected today and a new proposal should be coming over the next couple of days to seal the deal.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the situation and believe Dorgu would be an ideal heir to Cambiaso.
That all depends on whether Manchester City come in with the reported €80m offer to sign the Italy international before the transfer deadline.
Seeing as Juve only paid €13.3m to buy Cambiaso from Genoa in 2022, it would represent a massive profit to complete this sale.
Like Dorgu, Cambiaso can play on the right or left, as part of a four-man defence or in a more advanced role.
If Manchester City make their move first, then it could push Juventus to swoop for a target on the other side of Manchester.
