Manchester United are searching for the perfect versatile attacking option and have been linked with a move for Kenan Yildiz of Juventus recently.
The Turin-based outfit could be forced to sell the Turkish wonderkid should they miss out on Champions League football this season.
The price being bandied about is a humongous €90 million with multiple English clubs also vying for the 19-year-old’s signature in the summer.
Tuttomercatoweb have claimed the Bianconeri are preparing for life without the former Bayern Munich starlet and they have found his perfect replacement.
Alejandro Garnacho is being eyed for his ability to provide pace and unpredictability up top especially with a change in the dugout on the cards.
The Argentine’s form under Amorim has faltered recently even though he did return to scoring ways before the international break.
And given that his sale will count as pure profit, INEOS could sell him and acquire Yildiz in return. However, the report claims the 20-year-old will be available for only €40 million, which is unlikely to be true.
Napoli had seen their €55 million bid get rejected in January with the Red Devils holding out for €70 million and Juve will likely have to pay as much.
“The future of Kenan Yildiz remains one of the most delicate issues at Juventus. The Turkish talent is on the market and the Bianconeri club could evaluate a sale only in the face of offers of at least 80 million euros, but in the meantime, in Turin they are also starting to think about possible alternatives.
“Among these, the name of Alejandro Garnacho, Argentine winger for Manchester United, a target for Napoli in the past, is back in vogue. The 2004-born player is liked for his speed, unpredictability and room for growth. And above all, he would cost half as much as Yildiz: a figure around 40 million could be enough to convince the Red Devils to sell.
“His profile would return to the forefront in the event of the arrival of Roberto Mancini, or in any case of a coach who prefers the offensive trident. Garnacho is in fact perfect to act as a high left winger, and would represent a talented gamble with the potential of a top player.”
There are rumours Garnacho could be sacrificed as part of a swap deal for Victor Osimhen, who is a better fit for Amorim’s style. It will be interesting to see which direction INEOS takes ultimately.
