Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé on Saturday took sole ownership of the title of top-scorer in Europe’s top-5 leagues this calendar year.

As much came courtesy of his exploits in Real’s return to action on the back of the international break.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are fresh off putting Celta Vigo to the sword by two goals to one, in the process joining arch rivals Barcelona on 24 points atop the La Liga table.

Vinícius Jr. proved himself the game’s decisive figure, notching Los Blancos’ all-important 2nd midway through the 2nd-half.

It was the aforementioned Mbappé who opened the game’s scoring, though, courtesy of a wonderful strike from outside the penalty area 20 minutes in.

And, in the process, the summer arrival in Spain’s capital retook the title of the continent’s top-scorer in 2024.
