LAFC winger Cristian Olivera completes Grêmio move | OneFootball

U.S. Open Cup holders LAFC will be one bright name lighter after Cristian Olivera completed his move to Brazilian outfit Grêmio.

The 22-year-old Uruguayan international midfielder scored eight goals and added one assist during his two seasons in Los Angeles, but will now test himself on different shores.

In an official statement, LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington said "This sale is another example of a talented young player developing here at LAFC, and these resources will now allow us to further strengthen our team. We wish him all the best in his opportunity with Grêmio.”

Olivera's time with LAFC bore fruit for the player on a personal level after he broke into the senior Uruguayan side for the 2024 Copa América on the back of his progression at BMO Stadium.
