Tim Steidten is likely to leave his role as Techincal Director as the club move in a new direction.

West Ham‘s current head of all recruitment, who joined back in July 2023 following spells with Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen, is seen his stock fall considerably in recent months, following poor acquisitions made and concerns surrounding fallings out with Head Coaches.

Steidten was banned from the clubs training ground and player dressing rooms on match days by former boss David Moyes, who was understood to be frustrated by the Germans presence as it was deemed unnecessary.

Following the departure of Moyes and the subsequent appointment of Julen Lopetegui as Head Coach, it was hoped a fruitful relationship would commence, however they never saw eye-to-eye from the outset.

Lopetegui has since departed, however he again joined Moyes in banning Steidten from being around the players, which understandably rang alarm bells amongst the Hammers hierarchy.

Furthermore, the club are not impressed with the business conducted by Steidten in the summer, with West Ham spending £27m on Niclas Fullkrug, £20m on Luis Guilherme and £30m on Jean-Clair Todibo – all of whom have to-date been unsuccessful acquisitions for the club.

West Ham have now appointed Kyle Macaulay as an analyst to work alongside new Head Coach Graham Potter, with Macaulay set to identify targets for the club.

This leaves Tim Steidten with no future in east London, as his expected departure to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
