The former England international is currently with the Turkish giants, but he hasn’t featured as much as he would’ve wanted this season, although that could change under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

It had been claimed that Sheffield United were monitoring Oxlade-Chamberlain, and it appears there’s further interest in the 31-year-old.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer latest

That’s after The Sun states that Wolves, Leicester and Leeds are all keeping tabs on Oxlade-Chamberlain’s situation.

They say that whilst Solskjaer would be open to keeping the player, it’s thought that Oxlade-Chamberlain is open to a return to England.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, they add that returning to the Premier League would be the priority, which could make a move difficult for Leeds, despite their brilliant position in the Championship as they look to return to the top-flight.

Leeds United’s January transfer plans

It has been a quiet transfer window for Leeds, and that’s not something that will be overly worrying Daniel Farke.

The German has a very good squad at his disposal, evident by the fact that he has been using the likes of Largie Ramazani, Wilfried Gnonto, Ilia Gruev and Junior Firpo from the bench in recent games.

So, the group is in a healthy position, but there will be some that feel a top quality attacking midfielder is needed.

Whether Oxlade-Chamberlain is that player is open to debate, but he obviously has great pedigree, and would bring high level experience to the team.

At his best, he would add a lot to the side with his ability to run with the ball, beat players and he would make big contributions in the final third.

Yet, his injury record is a massive concern, and the reality is that Oxlade-Chamberlain has struggled to make a positive impact in Turkey, so you would have to question whether he is capable of making an instant impact, which is what Farke would want from a January addition.

So, it will be interesting to see if Leeds pursue this, or any other transfer, before the deadline. But, as outlined above, they are not in a position where they’re desperate, and it’s instead about adding quality if the right opportunity becomes available.
