The Reds defender signalled to Liverpool’s medical staff that he was experiencing discomfort and was immediately taken off. By doing so, he has avoided a serious injury.

He is set to be sidelined for about two weeks and will face a battle to prove his fitness before Liverpool’s heavyweight clashes against Real Madrid and Manchester City.

In case he is unable to recover, Arne Slot has an able deputy in Conor Bradley.

The 21-year-old right-back made a serious impact under Jurgen Klopp last season, and he will be in action with Northern Ireland against Belarus and Luxembourg during the international break.

According to Paul Joyce of The Times, Bradley has impressed Slot heavily.

Conor Bradley must stay injury-free during the international break

The highly-rated full-back is yet to make a Premier League start this season. He has made six appearances in the league; all of them have come from the bench.

The international games are important for Bradley as they give him an opportunity to stay match-fit.

However, Slot will be really frustrated if Bradley gets injured once again while on international duty. In the last break, he picked up an injury while playing for his country, and as a result, couldn’t get involved with Liverpool straight away.

Liverpool will face Southampton, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Everton after the international break, and Slot will need all his players to contribute.

The Reds boss is bound to rotate his squad to keep his players fresh, and Bradley can expect to start in some of the games. Therefore, it is important for him to stay injury-free this time around.

The Reds have done incredibly well under their new manager and have extended their lead at the top of the table to five points.
