Liverpool respond to Barcelona’s Luis Díaz interest | OneFootball

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot on Friday responded to the mounting media speculation linking star winger Luis Díaz with a move to Spain with Barcelona.

The name of wide-man Díaz has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Colombian has been identified as the no.1 summer transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Barcelona.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third, the Blaugrana have identified the former Porto man as the ideal profile.

Speaking during his latest press conference on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of these rumours was put to Liverpool headmaster Arne Slot.

And the Dutch tactician pulled no punches with his response, concluding that he is also a keen admirer of Barca pair Lamine Yamal and Raphinha:

“I understand that Deco is a big fan of Luis Díaz, because I am too. He’s a great player, he’s having a magnificent season. If you put him on that exclamation list, I guess he’ll also include Salah and Gakpo, or hasn’t he said that? I am also an admirer of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha…”
