Liverpool head to in-form Bournemouth this weekend in a huge Premier League clash on the South Coast.
Arne Slot’s Premier League leaders are aiming to take another step towards the title but face a Bournemouth team bang in form. The Cherries are unbeaten in 11 games and have climbed within one point of the Champions League places. Last weekend, Bournemouth blitzed third-placed Nottingham Forest 5-0 in a statement win.
Ahead of the clash, Slot has admitted Saturday’s fixture is a ‘big one’ for his team. Liverpool are six points clear in the title race as things stand and can put the pressure on nearest challengers Arsenal, who face Manchester City on Sunday.
Arne Slot rested several of his big names in midweek with Liverpool’s Champions League qualification already assured. Of last weekend’s starting side against Ipswich, only Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson travelled to the Netherlands for the 3-2 defeat at PSV Eindhoven.
Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch are among the names set to return, while Liverpool’s stocks have been further boosted by Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez all returning to training this week. Curtis Jones remains out for the Reds.
Decisions will also be made on Jayden Danns and James McConnell this week as Liverpool weigh up loan exits for the emerging pair.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.
Bournemouth host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturdya February 1st 2025. Kick-off at The Vitality Stadium is 15:00 GMT.
Bournemouth vs Liverpool has not been selected for live television coverage in the UK.
