Luton Town goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski is reportedly seeking a summer exit from Kenilworth Road
Luton Town goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski is reportedly seeking a summer exit from Kenilworth Road, with the Belgian international keen to secure a move to a Championship club.
The Hatters suffered a second relegation in succession in 2024-25, with Matt Bloomfield unable to keep the side he joined in January from dropping into English football's third tier.
Some first-team players are likely to leave as a result, and as per journalist Alan Nixon, Kaminski is determined to remain in English football despite interest from his native Belgium.
Kaminski's desire to leave Luton Town comes weeks after the Hatters were relegated for the second successive season - on the final day of the past Championship.
Alan Nixon's report suggests that 32-year-old Kaminski has made it clear he wants to stay in English football, but wants to avoid playing in the third tier if he can.
The Belgian joined Luton from Blackburn Rovers ahead of their maiden Premier League season in 2023, playing in all 38 league games that season - achieving two clean sheets.
If he was to leave, Luton will be wanting a decent fee for their number one - and Nixon reports Kaminski wants it to be from a Championship team as he seeks remaining in the UK.
Even though Kaminski has been relegated again, his experience and proven Championship pedigree - 118 appearances over three years at Rovers - still make him an attractive acquisition for clubs who want to strengthen in goal.
Not interested in returning to his homeland just yet, Kaminski appears committed to continuing his career in England.
Previously, the Dendermonde-born goalkeeper had admitted he was open to returning to Anderlecht - the club he supported as a child and played for between 2016 and 2016 - before moving to Luton in 2023.
His journey to English football beganwhen he joined Blackburn Rovers in 2020 for £500k - just a year after moving to Belgian club Gent for £2.2m.
Kaminski's potential departure would be another huge blow for The Hatters as they prepare for what could be a challenging summer window - it's likely Kaminski isn't the only one who doesn't want to stay around.
For clubs in the second-tier seeking goalkeeping reinforcement, Kaminski is a proven option with lots of experience, making him a low-risk signing - but it is unsure how much of the £2.5m Luton paid for him they could get back.
