RCD Mallorca star Dani Rodríguez has on Thursday made use of the opportunity to aim something of a dig at La Liga rivals Real Madrid.
This of course comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Real and the officials in Spanish football.
The subject of refereeing has proven a prominent one in the headlines in Madrid over recent days.
This comes after Los Blancos were again left feeling hard done by on the part of the team of officials in charge of the club’s La Liga meeting with Osasuna.
The brass at the Santiago Bernabéu went as far as to issue a public release on the matter, calling for access to the VAR audio records from the fixture.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, the subject of the ongoing drama surrounding Carlo Ancelotti’s side was therefore put to the aforementioned Dani Rodríguez.
And, during an interview with the D-Lokos program, hosted by Marc Requeni on Radio Marca Baleares, the midfielder was not shy in stating:
“We have to support the refereeing team. The rule is… don’t make a mistake against Real Madrid.”
Drawn directly on Jude Bellingham’s weekend red card, Rodríguez continued:
”The sanction was what was expected, I saw the match and, regarding what he said, I don’t fully control it… that’s why I’m studying English.”
