Manchester City head to Leicester City in the Premier League this afternoon aiming to turn around their torrid run of form.
A frustrating draw with Everton extended City’s recent run to one win in 13 games across all competitions. Pep Guardiola’s side have slipped to seventh in the table and are as close to the relegation places as leaders Liverpool.
It’s been a barely believable fall from grace for the champions, who have been unable to get out of their recent rut.
However, a trip to struggling Leicester could be the perfect fixture to relaunch their campaign. The Foxes have lost six of their last eight games and have recorded just one clean sheet all season.
Kyle Walker’s availability remains in question after the City captain missed the draw with Everton through illness. Ruben Dias, Rodri and Oscar Bobb are confirmed absentees, while it’s unlikely John Stones will feature.
Ederson (knock), Matheus Nunes (knock), and Jack Grealish (muscle) will all be assessed ahead of the trip to the King Power Stadium, with Guardiola’s options depleted.
The lack of an alternative to Erling Haaland at centre-forward has perhaps contributed to the forward’s loss of form. Haaland has scored just three times in his last 13 league games, having started the season with 10 goals in the first five fixtures.
Man City predicted XI: Ortega; Lewis, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Silva, Doku; Haaland.
Leicester host Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday 29th December 2024. Kick-off at the King Power Stadium is 14:30 GMT.
You can watch the game live on Sky Sports Premier League and Main Event from 13:30 GMT.
