Manchester City make the trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday lunchtime in the FA Cup’s fourth round.
Pep Guardiola’s side take on the League One promotion hopefuls at Brisbane Road bidding to take a step closer to Wembley. City will seek a response to their 5-1 defeat at Arsenal last weekend, with the Blues aiming to avoid a big upset in the capital.
It’s the first meeting between the teams since facing off in the second tier 59 years ago. Guardiola could hand a debut to new signing Nico Gonzalez, who arrived in a €60m deal from Porto in the closing stages of the window.
The O’s sit sixth in League One, inside the play-off picture, and have lost just once in their last 12 league games.
Pep Guardiola is expected to ring the changes with one eye on Tuesday’s titanic showdown with Real Madrid in the Champions League. James McAtee, who scored a hat-trick in the last round, will hope for another chance to impress.
New signings Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez could all feature for the Blues, while Divin Mubama could come in to hand Erling Haaland a rest. Mubama marked his Manchester City debut with a goal in the third-round thrashing of Salford.
Rodri remains out but Jeremy Doku, Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias could all play some part.
Manchester City predicted XI: Ortega; Lewis; Khusanov, Stones, O’Reilly; Gundogan, McAtee; Savinho, De Bruyne, Grealish; Marmoush.
Leyton Orient host Manchester City in the FA Cup’s fourth round on Saturday 8th February 2025. Kick-off is 12:15 GMT.
The match will be available to watch live in the UK on BBC One.
