Manchester United are ready to revamp their midfield in the summer and they have already identified their targets.

Casemiro is heading out of the club at the end of the season while Christian Eriksen, who is in the final few months of his contract at Old Trafford, is not being handed a new deal which makes his exit from the club inevitable.

Man United boss Amorim has the options of Manual Ugarte, Toby Collyer, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes in the midfield but the Portuguese midfielder is more suited to an attacking role rather than a central midfield role.

To address the midfield issues in the squad, the Red Devils are interested in signing Sunderland’s midfield duo Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg, according to Fichajes.

The Premier League giants have monitored both the midfielders closely and they are ready to invest in youth once again and the Sunderland midfield duo fit the profile of the players they are looking for.

However, they face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal to sign the Sunderland duo.

Mikel Arteta is facing midfield issues of his own at the Emirates Stadium with both Thomas Partey and Jorginho entering the final few months of their contract at the club.

Jorginho was linked with an exit from the club in the January transfer window but Arteta wanted to keep the experienced midfielder at the club for his team’s title challenge.

Although Sunderland would prefer to keep the players at the club but with both the Premier League clubs interested in signing them, they would find it difficult to keep the players at the club.

Bellingham and Riggs are still teenagers but they have played regularly for Sunderland this season and have impressed with their performances. They have the potential to become world class players in the future and the Premier League sides do no want to waste any time in bringing them to their clubs.
