Manchester United 2-1 Rangera

RFS 1-0 Ajax

Hoffenheim 2-3 Tottenham

AZ Alkmaar 1-0 Roma

That's our coverage of the Europa League done for tonight, and what a night it was as the knockout stages begins to take shape.

A dramatic night across the board.

Lazio are top and through to the last 16, while the rest of the top eight is made up by Eintracht Frankfurt, Athletic Bilbao, Manchester United, Lyon, Tottenham, Anderlecht and FCSB.

All 36 sides are in action at the same time next Thursday in what is guaranteed to be pure chaos.

FULL TIME: Manchester United 2-1 Rangers

An incredibly dramatic ending at Old Trafford, which is incredibly tough on a resilient Rangers side.

However, it is a big win for United, and their hopes of automatic qualification, and they have their captain to thank for three points.

FULL TIME: RFS 1-0 Ajax

A simply stunning result as Ajax are turned over in Latvia.

GOAL!!!! Man Utd 2-1 Rangers

A captain's goal from Fernandes deep into added time, who connects brilliantly with Martínez's excellent cross at the back post.

How big could that be?

GOAL!! Rangers 1-1 Man Utd

Rangers make United pay for their missed chances.

It's a howler from Maguire, who loses the ball in the air to Dessers, but take nothing away from his stunning finish.

Garnacho works Butland again with a fine strike. He's had a good game tonight, but will he be at United at the end of the window?

CLOSE! Man Utd 1-0 Rangers

Cyriel Dessers was probably offside, but no one in Old Trafford knew that.

He latched onto a brilliant ball from Blainey Rice, and dinked the ball over Bayindir and onto the outside of the post.

GREAT SAVE! Man Utd 1-0 Rangers

Jack Butland has slightly redeemed himself with a fine point-blank save from Manuel Ugarte's header.

This isn't over yet.

GOAL!!! RFS 1-0 Ajax

RFS are on the verge of pulling off the biggest win in their history.

Adam Markhiyev has danced through their defence before sticking the ball in the bottom corner.

There's less than 10 minutes to go!

Toby Collyer has quietly had a strong game for United in midfield, in what is just his second start for the club.

CLOSE AGAIN!

United should be out of sight, this time Harry Maguire putting a free header wide.

Might they live to regret these missed chances against a threadbare Ranger side?

Can Ajax find a way through? They've had most of the ball, and nearly all of the chances.

CLOSE!

United cut through Rangers, and Amad's ball finds Garnacho, who sorts his feet inside the box but hits the post from six yards out.

It feels like a second is coming.

You've got to feel for Butland. He's had a top game, and all.

GOAL! Man Utd 1-0 Rangers

From the resulting Christian Eriksen corner, Jack Butland makes a mess of it, punching the ball into his own net.

The former United man and all...

CLOSE!

Rangers lose the ball, and Garnacho and Fernandes combine for the latter to hit a deflected effort just over.

Lazio are in cruise control, leading 10-man Sociedad 3-0, and on their way to a three-point lead at the top of the table.

United have started the second half a bit brighter, and, unsurprisingly this man is at the heart of it.

The first goal tonight is vital for United.

Harry Maguire is on for Matthijs de Ligt for the second half, while Rangers have lost Leon Balogun and Connor Barron to injury.

Youngsters Bailey Rice and Ross McCausland are on in their place.

The scores around the continent at the break.

A huge 45 ahead.

It's also goalless in Latvia, where RFS are holding out Ajax.

Half time: Man Utd 0-0 Rangers

It's goalless at Old Trafford at the break, but both sides have had chances. United have shaded it, although Rangers will be the happier side.

Lisandro Martínez has a pop for United, absolutely belting the ball in the direction of the Rangers goal.

Bultand does well again. The former England keeper spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Old Trafford, but failed to make an appearance.

United come very close to breaking the deadlock with 10 minutes left in the first half.

Amad got on the end of a lovely through ball from Bruno Fernandes, but Jack Butland did very well to snuff him out.

Almost a goal against the side he was once on loan.

It's now 2-0 to Lazio, who have wasted no time making their man advantage count.

Mario Gila got the first, and Mattia Zaccagni has their second.

Elsewhere, Lazio are a goal up and a man up against Real Sociedad.

A horrible first 30 minutes for the San Sebastien side.

Ajax are utterly dominant in possession in Latvia, but haven't really made any inroads on the RFS goal.

DISALLOWED GOAL: Man Utd 0-0 Rangers

United thought they had the lead through Matthijs de Ligt, but the referee judged that Leny Yoro committed a foul just before the Dutchman headed home.

On replay, it looks incredibly soft.

Alejandro Garnacho, who has been subject of intense transfer speculation, has been United's best attacker so far.

He looks bright every time he gets on it out left.

The Turkish keeper was called into action again moments later, saving from international teammate Rıdvan Yılmaz.

Huge warning for United, as Toby Collyer loses the ball far too easily on the edge of the box.

Altay Bayindir did well to stop Nedim Bajrami, who stumbled before shooting.

Ajax have also kicked off away to RFS.

Details of goals and such to follow when and if they happen!

We're underway at Old Trafford for the latest Battle of Britain on the European club stage.

A win for Manchester United could see the move into third place in the Europa League table, dependent on results elsewhere.

If Rangers can pull off a bit of a shock, they would likely end up in the top eight when all is said and done tonight.

Here's the full set of results from the early kick offs across the continent.

FULL TIME: AZ 1-0 Roma

It' a famous night in Alkmaar, as Troy Parott's late strike beats Claudio Ranieri's Roma.

FULL TIME: Hoffenheim 2-3 Spurs

Spurs have held on for a massively important win, which puts then into fourth place in the Europa League table and on course for automatic qualification.

Five minutes added on in Germany.

GOAL! Hoffenheim 2-3 Spurs

Hold on a minute. This isn't over just yet.

David Mokwa has given the hosts a lifeline with a header in the 88th minute.

Will Spurs hold on?

GOAL! AZ 1-0 Roma

Commentator's curse?!!

AZ have taken the lead with their first shot on target, Irishman Troy Parrott finishing from close range following some neat build-up.

The home fans have gone into a frenzy.

While the game in Germany has been exciting, as tends to be the case with Spurs, AZ-Roma is a real snore-fest.

There's barely been a chance.

GOAL!! Hoffenheim 1-3 Spurs

Huge goal for Ange Postecoglou, and it's come from his skipper again.

Hoffenheim gifted Spurs the ball, and it made its way to Son, who finished in vintage fashion with his left foot.

It's no less than the Bundesliga side have deserved - they have been much the better side in the second half, with Spurs looking more like their recent selves.

GOAL! Hoffenheim 1-2 Spurs

With 22 minutes left, Hoffenheim are right back in this. Anton Stach was the scorer, finishing off a brilliant counter from close range.

Game on.

Elsewhere on the continent, Fenerbahçe-Lyon and Porto-Olympiacos remain goalless.

How might the Europa League table look in a half hour or so?

There's been a single shot on target in the opening hour of AZ and Roma's clash.

One goal might do it for either side at this point.

The Rangers team is out too, and there's a return to Old Trafford for former loanee Jack Butland.

The Man Utd team is in, and there's a starting spot for Alejandro Garnacho, as well as Altay Bayindir, Toby Collyer and Christian Eriksen.

We're back underway in the early kick-offs.

Can Spurs get a big win? Will there be a winner between AZ and Roma?

A tribute fitting of the man known as the "King of the Stretford End".

Manchester United will be looking to somewhat steady the ship once again tonight when they host Rangers at Old Trafford.

HALF TIME!

Spurs are in control in Germany at the break, and surely will hold out for a crucial win.

AZ and Roma can't be separated so far.

There's not a huge deal happening so far in the clash between AZ and Roma, which could really do with a goal.

In his 436th appearance for Spurs (the 10th most in their history), Son has scored his 171th goal for the club.

It's also the 10th time he's faced Hoffenheim in his career, and he looks on course for his eighth win.

GOAL! Hoffenheim 0-2 Spurs

Did we speak it into existence?

The Spurs captain has indeed scored on his latest return to Germany with a deflected effort after Maddison put him through on goal.

Spurs have looked good so far, and Son Heung-Min has had their latest opening.

Can the former Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg man grab a goal back in his former adopted country?!

Over in Alkmaar, Roma have dominated possession in the opening 10 minutes, but have yet to test Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro in the AZ goal.

They're not wrong 🎯

GOAL! Hoffenheim 0-1 Spurs

It has taken just four minutes for Spurs to get off to a dream start in Germany.

James Maddison is the scorer, brilliantly taking down Pedro Porro's long ball, and smashing the ball high into the net with an equally elite finish.

KICK OFF: The early games are underway in Alkmaar and Hoffenheim!

A big night begins.

Hoffenheim need a result tonight to stay in the hunt for the knockout round playoffs, and this is how they line up!

Artem Dovbyk has been Roma's main man of late. Can the Ukrainian continue his hot streak tonight?

Roma have had a good day so far, completing the signing of Ajax defender Devyne Rensch, and are going Double Dutch with a clash away to AZ Alkmaar.

This is how they line up.

Spurs look relaxed. Will they be in 45 minutes at kick-off?

It's a big night for Ange Postecoglou, who desperately needs a positive result in Germany.

Spurs are on a wretched run of just two wins from their last eight games in all competitions, and currently sit outside the automatic qualification spots for the Europa League knockout phase.

The pick of the early kick-offs see Tottenham visit Hoffenheim, and AZ Alkmaar host Roma, and the Spurs' team news is in.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of Europa League gameweek seven!
