Ruben Amorim says defensive duo Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are back available for Man Utd’s game against Nottingham Forest.

Both have been absent through injury of late but have returned to training.

Luke Shaw has also returned to training but is “not ready yet”, Amorim says, having not played since December.

Ayden Heaven, meanwhile, is out with the foot injury he sustained against Leicester but Amorim says the injury is not as serious as first feared and is hopeful he could be back before the end of the campaign.

Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo, Altay Bayindir and Jonny Evans also remain out for United.

Martinez suffered an ACL injury in February, whilst Amad remains out with an ankle injury.

Mainoo has been out for two months, but Amorim said he is “almost ready” to come back into the fold. Bayindir, meanwhile, is ready for a return to action.

Amorim has seen his side’s form pick up in the last two months, with only one loss in nine games since.

They face Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Lyon in the Europa League, Newcastle and then the return leg against Lyon in their next five games in a crucial spell.

Crashing out of the Europa League would be a new low, in what has already been a miserable campaign. But victory, as well as a few points in the league games, could mean the season is set to end on a high.

Forest are the next assignment, and with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently third in the league and having picked up a win over United once already this season, it will be a tough test.

“I feel the players are more confident and the energy is different,” Amorim said. “But I also know that can change with results. Even winning the games, we can acknowledge we have a lot to improve and are ready for the final two months of the season.”
