Manchester City makes a short trip on Sunday to take on their local rivals Manchester United in the Premier League. This is their first match since midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne announced his intentions to leave the club. They won their last fixture 2-0 against Leicester City thanks to goals from Omar Marmoush and Jack Grealish.
Despite leading for most of the match, Pep Guardiola's side lost the reverse fixture at home to Manchester United, 2-1. When the two sides met again in the FA Cup final at the end of last season, United once came out on top. Earlier this campaign, Rúben Amorim had also outwitted Guardiola in the Champions League before taking over at United. The Spaniard will be determined to avoid a third consecutive defeat to both United and their manager.
The Brazilian has lost his place at times to Ortega. After keeping a clean sheet last time against Leicester City at home, he should start once again.
Nunes was once again started in the makeshift full-back role. He did well, and Guardiola will be keen to use his experience to combat United.
The Portuguese center-back is a regular in the team. He made the most passes last time against Leicester. They will need him at his best against tricky opposition on Sunday.
The January signing missed Man City's last match as he was given a rest. However, he should be available and straight into the lineup.
The center-back turned left-back has been one of his club's important players due to his abilities at the back and going forward. Both of those will be essential at Old Trafford.
The Spaniard did not have the best of matches against Leicester. However, he is expected to start over other options that have been underwhelming in recent matches.
The experienced German should once again start. His ability to control the ball and dictate the tempo of the match will be crucial.
The winger assisted Grealish. He has done well for them after a difficult start at the club. His pace and runs will be important against United.
The England international was an unused substitute last time, but his great record in this fixture and experience could give him the nod over Grealish, who started the previous match and scored.
The speedy winger will be hoping to cause trouble for United. He will be eager to improve his record of three goals and four assists in the league.
With top scorer Erling Haaland out, the Egyptian will again be tasked to start the match. He has five goals in the league since signing for the club in January. He scored last Wednesday and will be keen to make his mark in the Manchester derby.
