It appears that Manchester City are preparing to make a massive move in the summer transfer market, with their sights firmly set on Barcelona’s midfield maestro, Pedri.
According to a report from Fichajes, the English champions are ready to offer an eye-watering €200 million in a bid to lure the Spanish international to the Etihad Stadium.
It must be noted that in recent weeks, City had been exploring their options to strengthen the midfield and were heavily linked with German talent Florian Wirtz.
However, after deciding against pursuing the Bayer Leverkusen star, Pep Guardiola has returned to a familiar name—Pedri.
The Barcelona youngster has long been admired by Guardiola, who values players with intelligent positioning, quick decision-making, and technical finesse—qualities Pedri possesses in abundance.

It is no secret that Pedri has established himself as one of the most important players in Barcelona’s current squad. Despite his young age, he plays with remarkable composure and understanding of the game.
His vision, passing accuracy, and calmness under pressure have often helped Barcelona navigate through difficult matches.
The Catalan club, fully aware of Pedri’s value, view him as an untouchable figure. Not only does he play a key role in the present, but he is also expected to be one of the pillars around which Barcelona build their future.
Losing such a player would certainly be a major setback for the club, both on and off the pitch.
Despite Manchester City’s willingness to spend big, completing the deal is expected to be very difficult.
Furthermore, the player has not shown any interest in negotiating a move, and even Barcelona have not indicated any intention to entertain offers for their star midfielder.
