McTominay and Raspadori: ‘Napoli, this is not the time to panic’

Scott McTominay and Giacomo Raspadori urge Napoli to stay calm after their lead at the top of Serie A table was cut to one point from Inter. ‘This is not the time to panic.’
It was a strange evening at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, because the Partenopei twice took the lead through Romelu Lukaku and Raspadori only to be pegged back to a 2-2 draw.
Genoa kept coming back with two headers, as Honest Ahanor’s effort hit the upright and ricocheted in off Alex Meret, while Johan Vasquez rose to meet the Aaron Martin cross at the 84th minute.
Curiously, both Napoli goals came from McTominay assists, so he already has four in Serie A for the season.

“We have to stay calm, this is not the time to panic,” McTominay told DAZN after receiving his Man of the Match award from the Lega Serie A.
“Genoa are a strong team, they scored two good goals and we have to look at what we did wrong there.”
“It’s important to stay calm, keep doing what we’re doing, then see where the end of the season gets us.”
This is his debut Serie A campaign, so did the Scotland international expect to be in this position with a battle to the end for the Scudetto?
“It’s tough, it’s tight, there are two or three top teams and it’s anyone’s to win. We just have to concentrate, keep calm, this is not the time to panic, so we keep training and attack the next game,” concluded McTominay.

This result, and Inter’s 2-0 victory away to Torino earlier this evening, means that Napoli have seen their three-point lead at the top of the table hacked down to just a single point.
“The fans were fantastic this evening, they gave us a big hand,” Raspadori told DAZN.
“That’s what makes this result even more disappointing, as we had prepared well, we played well too. It is a point, so it is still important because we are in front, but we wanted to win. We gave our all.”
There are two rounds still to be played, with the Partenopei visiting Parma and hosting Cagliari, while Inter will take on Lazio and Como.
“We’ve got to keep the same attitude we’ve had so far, because this is what got us here, so keep going with the same intensity and hard work that we’ve done every single day,” said the Italian.
