It looks as though Boro are keen to bide their time, as they wait to see whether a bidding war will take place for their key man.
Middlesbrough are yet to respond to Atlanta United's bid for Emmanuel Latte Lath.
This is according to the Northern Echo, who believe Boro are currently waiting to see whether it ends up sparking a bidding war for the forward, who has been a real hit during his time at the Riverside.
He has endured some tough periods, but has done extremely well this season and played a big part in his team climbing into the play-offs.
Their attack has been key to their success, with Michael Carrick's team one of the most lethal teams in the Championship this season.
It's fair to say a 6-2 away win at Oxford United helped to boost their total - and Latte Lath scored twice at the Kassam Stadium in that huge victory.
Alongside the likes of Finn Azaz and Ben Doak, the Ivorian has been able to show his class and it only seemed like a matter of time before bids were going to come in for the player, having been the subject of a major offer from Ipswich Town during the final day of the previous window.
According to the Northern Echo, Atlanta have offered more than £18m, which could total up to £20m+ with add-ons.
This is a significant amount for Latte Lath, but the same outlet have reported that Boro haven't formally responded to this bid at this stage.
Instead, they are keen to see whether this bid will end up sparking an auction, which could allow the Teesside outfit to secure an even bigger amount for their star striker.
Teams from the Premier League and clubs from overseas are thought to be interested in Latte Lath, so more bids could follow in the coming days.
Latte Lath doesn't see his contract at the Riverside expire until 2027.
And even after that, Boro have the opportunity to extend his stay by a further year, so the Teesside outfit probably don't need to sell him at this stage.
It's no surprise that Carrick's side haven't jumped at the chance to accept Atlanta's bid yet, considering how strong their negotiating position is.
£18m is a fairly decent bid though and it's something that could be considered, especially if the Teesside outfit can include more in add-ons and insert a sell-on clause into the deal.
