West Ham United secured back-to-back wins for the first time since last March after beating Leicester City 2-0 at the London Stadium on Thursday night.

The Hammers picked up a precious 1-0 victory against Arsenal in the previous game, and they followed it up with another crucial win against the Foxes, which puts them at 15th in the league table.

It also shows that momentum is building under Graham Potter. West Ham have only won three games in the last eight under Potter, but they are building a strong spine.

The Hammers have definitely avoided relegation, and they can now look forward to building something exciting next season.

Tomas Soucek celebrated his 30th birthday with the opening goal in the first half. Towards the end of the first half, Jarrod Bowen’s shot from a tight angle deflected in off Leicester defender Jannik Vestergaard, and the game was sealed right there.

While Soucek has received loads of praise, one player who was outstanding on the night was Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The former Manchester United full-back put in an “eye-catching” performance, and The Times gave him an 8/10 rating.

Wan-Bissaka developed his reputation at Old Trafford as primarily being a defensive-minded full-back. While he is still defensively very solid, he has now become effective going forward as well.

The newspaper wrote: “Wan-Bissaka was particularly eye-catching, living up to his newfound reputation as a probing, attacking wingback.

“Wan-Bissaka again flexed his powers going forward, igniting the move with a delicate, dinked pass that found its way to Bowen on the right.”

In the end, it looked like West Ham had an easy game, as Leicester hardly created any opportunities. It was Leicester’s 11th defeat in the last 12 games, and they are staring at another relegation.

Evan Ferguson missed a great opportunity to make it 3-0 late on, but it didn’t make any difference in the end.
