A strong start to 2024-25 campaign for Evann Guessand (23) has caught the attention of Aston Villa.
Unai Emery’s men are looking for a new striker, having recently sold Jhon Duran (21) to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League for €76m. Guessand is seen as a potential replacement, according to L’Équipe.
Guessand has been in fine attacking form of late for Nice, scoring three goals this year, while he leads Franck Haise’s men with nine strikes in Ligue 1 this season. In addition to that, he’s registered six assists.
Now he’s reportedly on the Villa shortlist of players to sign during the winter transfer window, a list that, per L’Équipe, also includes Marcus Rashford of Manchester United (27) and Chelsea’s João Félix (25).
Aston Villa also reportedly have their eyes on Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Asensio (29).
Rashford and Félix appear to be cheaper options for them, while adding Guessand may depend on whether or not Ollie Watkins (29) leaves the club, with the Englishman linked to Arsenal. The winter transfer window comes to a close on Monday.
