AC Milan discovered their opponents for the play-off round of the Champions League in today’s draw, and they will face Feyenoord.
Milan’s worst nightmare came true on Wednesday night as they lost 2-1 against Dinamo Zagreb to surrender their top eight place in the table, which would have secured direct access to the last 16.
As a result of the defeat, the Rossoneri dropped from sixth in the table before a ball was kicked to 13th, knowing that they now have a couple of tricky play-off legs next month.
Speaking of which, the bracket and seeding system means that Milan already knew their two potential opponents for the next phase based on the league finish: Feyenoord or Juventus.
Then, if Sergio Conceicao’s were to get through to the last 16 stage, they would play either Arsenal or Inter. In short, they have made lives very difficult for themselves.
During the draw which took place this afternoon, it was confirmed that Feyenoord await in the play-offs. What makes the tie even more tasty is the fact that Milan look set to sign their star striker Santiago Gimenez, before the window closes.
