Pointers as to availability for this Southampton match and beyond.
Fabian Schar is fine and available for Saturday, having fully recovered from illness.
Sven Botman is fine after some rest, following a flurry of appearances after so long out.
Nick Pope is back training with the squad and a good chance he makes the matchday squad tomorrow.
Callum Wilson is on track for return to availability in early February.
Eddie Howe on Nick Pope and Callum Wilson:
“There is a chance Nick will be in the squad [for Southampton], he has started training with the group again, it’s great to see.
“With Callum we are looking at the beginning of February. He is making good progress. We are trying to do the right things by him before he starts training with the group.”
Eddie Howe on Sven Botman:
“It was a challenge for Sven, he has been magnificent since he returned, he has been thrust into action, by and large he has been excellent.
“He is one we will look after.”
So it looks like, only Harvey Barnes, Jamaal Lascelles and Callum Wilson set to be missing for sure at Southampton. Nick Pope looking likely to be in the matchday squad.
From what Eddie Howe has said, I’m guessing that we will see Schar and Burn start against Southampton, with Botman likely to be on the bench.
