Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Piotr Zielinski, Federico Dimarco, and Marcus Thuram against Bologna. This evening’s Serie A matchday 19 clash kicks off at 20.45 CET.
Inter are looking to post a seventh consecutive league victory and close the gap on pacesetters Napoli to one point.
The Nerazzurri bounced back from a stomach-wrenching Supercoppa Italiana loss to AC Milan last week. They squeezed past Venezia 1-0 on Sunday.
The first home match in the league of 2025 for the reigning champions is against European hopefuls Bologna.
And Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has to juggle injuries and squad rotation in this evening’s showdown at the San Siro.
Firstly, in defense, Francesco Acerbi is back but not fully fit, and Yann Bisseck has joined the injury list.
Therefore, Matteo Darmian starts in the back three along with Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.
Meanwhile, that trio plays in front of Yann Sommer. Therefore, the 36-year-old continues his run of starting every Serie A game for Inter.
Then, in midfield, there are a few notable changes.
Firstly, Kristjan Asllani starts at the base of midfield with Hakan Calhanoglu absent.
Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also out with an injury. Therefore, Piotr Zielinski starts in his place.
Then, Nicolo Barella completes the midfield trio. Accordingly, Davide Frattesi must settle for a place on the bench.
At wingback, meanwhile, Federico Dimarco dislodges Carlos Augusto on the left. And then on the right, Denzel Dumfries starts.
Lastly, in attack Marcus Thuram gets the nod ahead of Mehdi Taremi, partnering Inter captain Lautaro Martinez.
