O’Reilly: We want to go all the way

Nico O’Reilly has stated his and Manchester City’s desire to win this season’s FA Cup.
It comes after Pep Guardiola’s side secured passage into the quarter-final of historic competition with a battling 3-1 win over Plymouth on Saturday.
Midfield starlet, O’Reilly played a starring role in the success – scoring twice as we came from a goal down to reach the last-eight.
Our Academy ace equalised after the visitors had taken the lead when he flicked a Kevin De Bruyne free-kick into the back of the net.
Then, with 15 minutes remaining, he handed City the lead with another fine header – this time from a Phil Foden corner – as he shrugged off his marker and planted the ball into the bottom corner.
And O’Reilly says his leveller before half-time gave the Blues the platform to push on and win the tie.
“[The FA Cup] is always important. It’s a big competition, all the teams in England play it and we want to win it,” he declared.
“Going into half-time one-nil down would’ve been tough, but it lifted the spirits and we were ready to go in the second half.
“They were a very good team, very physical and direct. Congratulations to them in getting this far.
“We’ll do our best to win and we’re into the quarter-finals now.”
Following O’Reilly’s brace, Kevin De Bruyne all-but sealed progression in the closing stages when he tucked home Erling Haaland’s cross to extend our advantage.
It represented the second FA Cup game in succession where the Belgian found the net after he bagged the winner in our 2-1 win over Leyton Orient in the previous round.
For O’Reilly, he says it’s an honour to play and train with classy playmaker.
He added: “Yeah you could say so [it was De Bruyne back at his best against Plymouth].
“He’s an amazing player and you see it in training every day. His work is 100% and it’s a pleasure to play with him.”
