Aston Villa had plenty of ups and downs during their three-year Championship stint from 2016-19.
A 13th-place finish in their first season in the second tier was followed by a heartbreaking 1-0 play-off final defeat against Fulham in 2018.
The Villans returned to Wembley a year later and exercised their play-off ghosts from the previous season, as Anwar El Ghazi and the ever-present John McGinn struck the winning goals in a famouns 2-1 victory over Derby.
The triumph provided a platform for recent Premier League growth, accelerated by Unai Emery, who has led Villa to Champions League and Conference League qualification in the past two seasons.
