Queens Park Rangers have won two of their last three Championship encounters and are just four points below the play-off places despite sitting 13th in the table.

The R's looked particularly dangerous during their 4-0 victory over Derby County last Friday, and they gave John Eustace the toughest possible start to his time in charge of the Rams.

During his side's victory over the Rams, Morocco international Ilias Chair not only scored his first goal of the season but also went on to bag a brace, while winger Koki Saito and defender Ronnie Edwards also got themselves on the scoresheet.

Up next, the R's travel to Portsmouth and will fancy their chances of yielding their third win in four attempts against a Pompey side who sit just 18th in the Championship, but have won both of their last two fixtures.

Ahead of the West London club's trip to Fratton Park, Football League World asked our QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir, which player on the R's side Pompey should be concerned about and why.

Louis said: "Due to the current form that he's been showing, I think Pompey have got to be worried about Saito.

"I'd be shocked if he doesn't start again.

"With Chair moving back into that 'number 10' (role), that left-wing position is Saito's now to lose really.

"We haven't really got another left-winger, and he has been absolutely superb, especially recently.

"To be fair, even when he first joined he showed glimpses at the start.

"He was unlucky not to score a couple (of) goals.

"But now he's having a real impact on games, he's not just a couple (of) goals, he's making things happen.

"He's electric to watch, he loves to beat his man on that left side, and he's a real, real threat.

"He's just been a real addition who I hope we can sign on a permanent deal in the summer.

"Portsmouth, I reckon they'd be sort of looking at our side and thinking QPR are quite dangerous now on the wings, on both sides.

"He (Saito) could be really tough to stop.

"Yeah, if I was the Portsmouth manager and coaching staff I'd be sort of looking at a way (of) how to nullify the sort of talent and ability that we (QPR) have got in the wide positions, but especially Koki Saito because he's in some form, and you fancy him to sort of fancy him to be a threat once more and make things happen.

"And the way he's linking up with Chair and if (Min-Hyeok) Yang or (Paul) Smyth or whoever of those two start, the front three is clicking.

"We're looking dynamic, and it's good.

"Yeah, Saito is definitely the one player to watch at the moment for us."

QPR would love to sign Saito on a permanent deal

As alluded to by Louis, the wideman has established himself as a real threat in recent weeks, which is demonstrated by the fact he has scored two goals in his last six games, which helped Marti Cifuentes' side on their way to victories over Hull City and Derby respectively.

Saito now has five goal contributions in the Championship this term, while his current form suggests that he could better his attacking numbers during the business end of the season.

The Japan youth international is currently on loan with the R's from Belgian outfit Lommel, while at 23 years old he still has plenty of potential to further develop, so there is no doubt that Cifuentes and co would be keen to land his services on a permanent basis come the summer.
