PSG will pursue a summer move for Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (23), L’Equipe can reveal this Friday. Les Parisiens have reportedly already informed all the involved parties that the France international goalkeeper was PSG’s No.1 target between the sticks. Chevalier is arguably the best French Ligue 1 goalkeeper and certainly the most talented at his age. The 23-year-old is tied with his formative club until 2027.
L’Equipe understands that Manchester United and Aston Villa are also monitoring Chevalier’s development. The 23-year-old is going from strength to strength and again displayed tremendous saves to help Les Dogues qualify for the Champions League’s RO16. The outlet even understands that Chevalier may have leapfrogged Brice Samba already as Mike Maignan’s understudy in France’s setup.
Chevalier’s short-term future is apparently not a topic of discussion yet as Lille are yet to put a price tag on their 23-year-old last stand. Although L’Equipe understands that Lille president Olivier Létang can easily sees Chevalier – given his profile, his skillset and his age – among the most expansive goalkeepers in history.
It remains to be seen whether Chevalier’s quest will put an early stop to Gianluigi Donnarumma’s career. The Italian international recently said he intended to extend his stay in the French capital.
