Carlos Soler, currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, seems to have found his best form at West Ham United, leaving the club with a tough decision ahead.

Soler knew he needed a fresh start this summer to secure regular playing time. While several clubs showed interest during the transfer window, West Ham secured his loan move on deadline day.

As reported by Claret and Hugh in October, the deal is strictly a loan, with no option for West Ham to buy. A senior official at the club confirmed, “Soler is just here on loan with absolutely no obligation for us to buy.”

Considering his high wages and the significant fee PSG would expect, any deal over £1 million would need approval from the board, which makes a permanent transfer unlikely. But now, things might be changing.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Soler hinted that he wants to remain with the Premier League side as he’s now in the prime years of his career.

“I don’t know about that,” Soler said. “If I tell you one thing, maybe in two months it’s going to be different. I don’t know, I like London, I like playing for West Ham, I like the fans, I like people here and I’m very happy. That’s all I can tell you right now.”

Recently, the Spanish publication AS reported that the belief that the former Valencia midfielder will join West Ham on a permanent deal is growing. Initially, it was thought that the Hammers would face significant difficulty in securing Soler permanently because of his high wages.

According to a previous report from Fichajes, PSG are asking for around €20 million for Soler and it will be interesting to see if they can secure this sum in the summer.
